Professor Loreena Hill serves as Professor of Nursing Research and Impact within the School of Nursing and Paramedic Science at Ulster University's Faculty of Life & Health Sciences. Based at the Derry~Londonderry campus, she maintains an active research program focused on heart failure care and nursing interventions.
Professor Hill's research interests center on improving care for heart failure patients, with specific expertise in congestive heart failure management, implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) patient support, palliative care integration, and interventions for frailty in cardiac patients. Her work emphasizes patient-centered approaches, caregiver support, and implementation of evidence-based practices in clinical settings.
With 131 research outputs spanning 2014-2025, Professor Hill demonstrates consistent scholarly productivity, particularly in high-impact cardiology and nursing journals. Her recent work shows increasing focus on implementation science and co-designed interventions that bridge research evidence with clinical practice.
