Dr. Longfeng Ye is a Lecturer in the Department of Economics Finance & Marketing at RMIT University, specializing in economic growth, development, and labour economics. She focuses on understanding the 'middle-income trap' through analysis of structural change in developing nations and historical economic trajectories, particularly in China and Europe. Her work also examines climate change impacts on agriculture and automation's role in firm offshoring decisions.
Research interests include empirical testing of unified growth theory using pre-industrial data, climate adaptation strategies, and the Great Divergence debate. Her findings appear in journals like European Economic Review and policy platforms such as VOXEU and The Conversation.
