Long Zhou is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Energy Policy (CEP) at the University of Strathclyde, affiliated with the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences. He holds a PhD in applied macroeconomics from Cardiff University, funded by the Welsh Government to study devolved tax policies' impact on the Welsh economy. His expertise includes Input-Output analysis and Computable General Equilibrium modeling, focusing on environmental, energy, fiscal, and inequality issues in contexts like decarbonization and net-zero transitions.
His research contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly addressing climate action and sustainable cities. Recent work includes analyzing regional implications of low-carbon heat transitions and exploring social tariffs' role in energy affordability. He has collaborated on datasets like the 2018 UK Social Accounting Matrix (SAM) with income-disaggregated households and organized conferences on energy policy and social tariffs.
