Lona van Delden

Dr. Lona van Delden is a Research Group Leader and Project Manager at the Alfred Wegener Institute's Permafrost Research department within the Polar Terrestrial Environmental Systems faculty. Her work focuses on understanding greenhouse gas emissions from Arctic and boreal ecosystems, particularly methane and nitrous oxide dynamics in permafrost regions. She leads projects such as FluxWIN, investigating non-growing season greenhouse gas fluxes, and studies the environmental impacts of thawing Yedoma permafrost.
