Lolos Periklis

Lolos Periklis serves as a Researcher at the Thermal Engineering Section within the Laboratory of Applied Thermodynamics and Refrigeration, part of the School of Mechanical Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). Holding a Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering, he actively contributes to the laboratory's research in thermal systems and refrigeration technologies.

His research focuses on Applied Thermodynamics, Refrigeration, and Heat Pump Systems, with emphasis on sustainable cooling solutions using eco-friendly refrigerants like R290. Current work involves experimental analysis of heat pump efficiency and integration with renewable energy sources.

The Laboratory of Applied Thermodynamics and Refrigeration features advanced facilities including power generation systems, solar cooling units with absorption chillers, dehumidification devices with liquid desiccants, and reverse osmosis desalination equipment. Recent initiatives include a donated 5.5 kW R290 heat pump educational unit from AHI CARRIER SEE (January 2025), enhancing capabilities for testing next-generation refrigeration technologies.
