Lois Woods is a Senior Research Assistant at the University of Southampton, affiliated with the Southampton Health Technology Assessments Centre (SHTAC). She specializes in information science and evidence synthesis, contributing to systematic reviews and clinical trial methodologies. Her role involves designing search strategies, critical appraisal of evidence submissions for NICE, and supporting projects like the StOP UTI initiative to prevent urinary tract infections in care homes. She holds a postgraduate degree in Information Science and previously worked at Public Health England as a librarian.
Lois actively participates in Cochrane Crowd and collaborates on interdisciplinary projects, including EU-funded research on immunomodulatory therapies for drug-resistant pneumonia. Her work spans healthcare resources, public health, and life sciences, emphasizing evidence-based practices.
