Lloyd Bastiman is a Senior Lecturer and Mental Health Practitioner at Teesside University's School of Health and Life Sciences (SHLS). He serves as the Mental Health Lead for Cohort 2401 and is Module Leader for Expert by Experience. His roles include delivering pre-registration modules and Course Leadership. Previously, he worked as a frontline police officer and negotiator in mental health crisis incidents, alongside clinical roles in NHS primary mental health care, forensic services, and specialist medical wards.

- Professional Doctorate (EdD) (ongoing) – Exploring Nurse Academics' use of Technology Enabled Learning (TEL) in teaching.
- MSc Education (PgCert Learning and Teaching in Higher Education)
- Bachelor’s Degree (First Class Honours) in Mental Health
- Various certifications including NMC Accredited Prescribing, Policing (CBP), and Mathematics.
Research focuses on mental health support post-police custody, interprofessional collaboration, and innovative teaching methods in healthcare education. He holds external affiliations including membership in the Association for Prescribers and the Society for Education and Training, alongside NHS registrations.
