Ljubiša Mitrović is a distinguished Serbian sociologist and Professor at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Niš, specializing in sociology. Born on February 16, 1943, in Mokra, Bela Palanka, he graduated from the Department of Sociology at the Faculty of Philosophy in 1970. Professor Mitrović's research interests span a wide range of sociological topics including Balkan sociology, peripheral capitalism, culture of peace, globalization studies, sociology of religion, and sociology of tourism.
