Ljubana Sladić is a Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, University of East Sarajevo, specializing in Criminal Law. She holds a Master's degree from the Faculty of Law, University of Belgrade (2015), and is currently pursuing a PhD in Criminal Law there. Since 2018, she has been teaching Criminology, Criminal Procedure Law, and Misdemeanor Law. She completed a volunteer internship at the Bijeljina Basic Court (2015–2017) and passed the bar exam in 2018. She serves as Secretary of the Department of Criminal Law and is a member of the Association of Lawyers of Republika Srpska. Her research focuses on criminal procedure, domestic violence legislation, and international legal standards. She speaks English and has basic proficiency in Spanish and German.
Her scholarly works address topics like plea bargaining, brain death legal definitions, and the role of the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture. Recent publications (2023) explore vehicle confiscation in legal proceedings and domestic violence classification under criminal vs. misdemeanor frameworks. She emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches to legal challenges, particularly in harmonizing domestic laws with international human rights norms.
