Lizette Gradén is an Affiliate Associate Professor in the Department of Scandinavian Studies at Stockholm University and Head of Collections at LSH (Myndigheten Livrustkammaren, Skoklosters slott med Stiftelsen Hallwylska Museet) in Stockholm. She leads a team of curators and conservators and serves on LSH’s executive team. Her research focuses on material culture, fieldwork methodology, and Scandinavian American culture. Gradén holds a Ph.D. in Ethnology/Folklore from Stockholm University (2003).
She previously served as Chief Curator at the Nordic Heritage Museum, where she expanded collaborations with universities and museums, organizing exhibitions like Danish Modern and Finland: Designed Environments. Her efforts on the Nordic American Voices oral history project earned LSH two regional cultural awards in 2013. Active in academia-museum partnerships, she contributes to doctoral committees, the SASS Advisory Board, and Stockholm’s central museum research committee.
Gradén’s work bridges academic research and museum practice, emphasizing cultural heritage and interdisciplinary collaboration.
