Liz Trumbull is a Lecturer at the Stuart Weitzman School of Design, University of Pennsylvania, where she teaches the Preservation Studio for second-year students. She concurrently serves as Associate Director of Historic Preservation, Facilities & Trade Programs at Eastern State Penitentiary Historic Site in Philadelphia. Her work spans preservation planning, maintenance, and restoration across the 11-acre National Historic Landmark site.
Education: B.S. in Civil Engineering from Northwestern University (2018), M.S. in Historic Preservation from University of Pennsylvania (awarded thesis and academic achievement awards). She manages the Preservation Trades Center, a dual initiative training underrepresented communities in preservation trades while connecting them to construction careers.
Research focuses on integrating hands-on preservation training with community development, sustainable historic site management, and bridging gaps in the building trades sector.
