Liz Trenchard is an Assistant Professor at Coventry University's Centre for Agroecology, Water and Resilience. Her research focuses on agroecology, community tree nurseries, heritage apple conservation, and green roof ecology. She leads projects funded by the Forestry Commission and Coventry City Council, including initiatives to enhance UK tree production and preserve Coventry’s heritage apple varieties. Her work addresses sustainable agriculture in global contexts, from West Africa to Jamaica.
Education: PhD in Environmental Sciences (specializing in tropical tree taxonomy and ecology).
Research interests include agroforestry in refugee settlements, organic farming resilience, and urban tree ecosystems. Recent projects investigate soil moisture dynamics in green roofs and mineral content changes in UK produce.
Awards include a Horizon 2020 grant for green roof research. She collaborates internationally on biodiversity and urban forestry initiatives.
