Liz Norton is a Professor in the Centre for Public Health at Bournemouth University and member of the iWell Research theme. She specializes in qualitative and participatory research on health, wellbeing, and the arts, with focus on ageing, chronic illness, and community engagement.
Her research explores arts-based health interventions, ageing populations, and qualitative methodologies. Key projects include SAIL (Staying Active and Independent for Longer) and Family Rituals 2.0, examining digital impacts on work-life balance.
Recent publications investigate therapeutic dance for Parkinson's, nurse role development, and arts in community health. Her 2023 Parkinson's dance study showed significant wellbeing improvements through bespoke movement programs.
She supervises PhD students in health studies and nursing workforce development. As Deputy Director of ICTHR, she leads projects on tourism workforce wellbeing and ageing.
