Liz Kingston

Liz Kingston is an Associate Professor of Nursing at the University of Limerick, School of Nursing and Midwifery. She serves as Academic Lead and Senior Clinical Skills Coordinator, with a focus on clinical skills pedagogy and infection prevention and control (IPC). Her work bridges innovative education methods like simulation and virtual tools with IPC research, funded by the Health Service Executive and Infection Prevention Society.

• PhD in IPC from University of Limerick (2017)
• MSc and Grad Cert in Education from Dublin City University and University College Dublin
• Fellow of the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery (2024)

Her research spans clinical skills education, IPC, and robotics in nursing. Recent work on service robots and IPC virtual gaming tools has been published in high-impact journals. She contributes to the Journal of Hospital Infection and American Journal of Infection Control.
