Liz Gilbert is Professor of Community Health Education at the Colorado School of Public Health, University of Northern Colorado. With expertise in cultural humility and authentic community engagement, she addresses health disparities in underrepresented populations through participatory research methods. Dr. Gilbert holds an EdD from Vanderbilt University and leads research on opioid harm reduction, rural health access, and community-based flood management.
Her scholarly work emphasizes equitable partnerships between academic institutions and communities. Current projects include supervision of doctoral research on active travel interventions and flood risk management in Thailand. Awards recognize her excellence in public health practice and engaged scholarship.
