Liv Kari Drolsum is a Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Oslo, with clinical practice based at Oslo University Hospital, Ullevål. Her research focuses on anterior segment disorders with particular expertise in cataract surgery complications, corneal diseases, and ocular manifestations of systemic conditions.
Her primary research interests include:

- Corneal collagen cross-linking for keratoconus
- Glaucoma surgery in pseudoexfoliation syndrome
- Ocular manifestations of Marfan syndrome
- Corneal transplantation techniques
Dr. Drolsum's recent publications demonstrate a strong emphasis on clinical trials and registry studies, particularly examining surgical outcomes, complication rates, and long-term follow-up data. Her work bridges evidence-based research with clinical practice, contributing significantly to treatment protocols in anterior segment surgery.
She actively collaborates with colleagues at Oslo University Hospital, particularly with Dr. Olav Kristianslund, and is affiliated with the 'Anterior segment of the eye' research group. Her methodological approach combines randomized clinical trials, retrospective analyses, and innovative surgical technique development.
