Lisette Graat

Lisette Graat is an Assistant Professor in Adaptation Physiology at Wageningen University & Research. Her research focuses on animal physiology, veterinary medicine, and zoonotic diseases with a strong emphasis on livestock health and environmental toxicology. She has collaborated on studies involving swine, equine species, and aquaculture systems.

Her work includes investigations into vertebral column pathologies in horses, genetic selection in swine breeding to reduce piglet mortality, and the impact of mycotoxins on rainbow trout. She has co-supervised three PhD projects addressing antimicrobial resistance, zoonotic parasites in livestock-fish systems, and MRSA dynamics in pigs.

Recent publications highlight her contributions to understanding osseous pathologies in equines, sow breeding values, and the effects of dietary components on toxin exposure in fish. Her research often involves post-mortem analysis and collaborative projects with international teams.
