Lise Vesterlund is the Andrew W. Mellon Professor of Economics at the University of Pittsburgh, directing the Behavioral Economics Design Initiative (BEDI) and the Pittsburgh Experimental Economics Laboratory (PEEL). She is a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research and serves on editorial boards including the American Economic Review and Journal of Public Economics.
Her research focuses on behavioral and experimental economics, particularly gender differences in labor markets and charitable giving. Notably, her book *The No Club* (2022) addresses systemic barriers to women’s career advancement through inequitable task distribution. She holds a B.A. from the University of Copenhagen and M.A./Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin.
Recent work includes analyzing donor motivations in charitable giving (2017) and experimental studies on gender disparities in competitive environments. She frequently speaks at global institutions like Harvard, Stanford, and Oxford, advocating for organizational reforms to promote equity.
