Lise Rolandsen Agustín is an Associate Professor at the Department of Politics and Society, Aalborg University, within The Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities. She is affiliated with the REGIS - Regional and International Studies research group. Her work focuses on gender equality, feminist movements, EU policy-making, and intersectionality. She has held leadership roles in multiple research projects, including the FIERCE project on revitalizing democracy through feminist movements and the PARENT project examining family dynamics. She is also involved in interdisciplinary initiatives like RESISTIRÉ, addressing gendered inequalities during the pandemic.
Her research interests include the interplay between gender, power, and political representation in transnational contexts, with emphasis on EU policies and Danish politics. Recent publications explore the impact of the #MeToo movement, antifeminist mobilizations, and intersectional approaches to gender-based violence. She has contributed to policy analyses on gender equality in Denmark and the EU, including evaluations of gender quotas and mainstreaming strategies.
Dr. Agustín has collaborated with international scholars and institutions, contributing to over 90 publications since 2003. Her work bridges academic research with public engagement, as evidenced by her media appearances discussing sexual harassment, gender policies, and political representation. She actively participates in conferences, workshops, and advisory roles, reflecting her commitment to both scholarly and societal impacts.
