Lise Kjølsrud is a Professor Emerita at the University of Oslo's Institute of Social Research (Department of Sociology). She holds a Dr. philos. in Sociology (1992) and has extensive academic leadership roles, including Head of Department at ISS UiO (1999-2001) and academic leadership of Oslo Research (2002-). Her research focuses on leisure sociology, welfare state dynamics, medical sociology, cultural studies, and gender analysis. She has authored/co-authored over 40 publications, including works on Norwegian societal structures and leisure's intersection with politics. Awards include the Fafo Prize (1992) and SAGE Prize nomination (2010). She has held roles in national and international academic governance, including chairing NOVA and HERO research institutes.
