Lise Barry is Dean of Macquarie Law School and a Professor at Macquarie University's Lifespan Health and Wellbeing Research Centre. She holds academic qualifications including a BA (Hons I) in Law and a PhD from Macquarie University. Her research focuses on Law and Ageing, Substitute Decision-Making, and Elder Abuse prevention. She has led projects such as 'Accelerating Aboriginal Workforce in Legal Services' and 'Australian Neurolaw Database Development.'
Her teaching roles include Director of Learning & Teaching (2015-2021) and Director of JD (2018-2020), with courses like Legal Ethics and Dispute Resolution. Awards include the Teaching Leadership Award (2021) and contributions to student learning (2017).
Research articles address legal capacity assessment, elder mediation, and human rights in aged care. She advises on Aged Care Royal Commissions and serves on the National Sports Tribunal and NSW Community Justice Centre.
