Lisako McKyer

Dr. Lisako McKyer is a Professor and Chair in the College of Public Health at the University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNTHSC). Her research focuses on health disparities, health equity, and structural determinants of health, emphasizing community-based participatory approaches. She holds a BA in Psychology from California State University Northridge, an MPH in Community Health, and a PhD in Health Behavior from Indiana University Bloomington. Dr. McKyer has led over 66 publications and actively engages in program evaluations, particularly in sexual violence prevention and health equity initiatives.

Her recent work includes a sponsored sexual violence prevention project funded by the Texas Attorney General (2025-2026). She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Health Behavior (FAAHB), reflecting her leadership in health behavior scholarship. Dr. McKyer’s research spans topics like dietary diversity in Niger, m-Health interventions for physical activity, and global syndemics analysis.
