Lisa Sung is an award-winning jazz pianist, composer, and educator currently serving as an Adjunct Professor at Calvin University and Aquinas College. She directs the Calvin Jazz Band and co-directs the Gospel Choir, mentoring emerging artists and worship leaders.

Her research and artistic practice focus on cross-cultural jazz reinterpretations, blending traditional Korean, Indonesian, and Vietnamese folk melodies with contemporary jazz harmonies and improvisation. She explores global musical dialogues through her albums and performances.
Lisa has received prestigious awards including the John Stites Jazz Award, Rackham Merit Fellowship, and University of Michigan’s Presidential Graduate Fellowship for her cross-cultural collaborations, notably with a Korean Pansori singer.
