Lisa Sperber

Lisa Sperber is a Continuing Lecturer at the University of California, Davis, specializing in writing instruction with a focus on Health Sciences and Education. She holds a Ph.D. in English from UC Davis (2012), an M.A. in English from UC Davis (2000), and a B.A. from Sarah Lawrence College (1994).

Her research and teaching emphasize Writing Across the Curriculum, labor-based contract grading, learning transfer, and the integration of AI in writing. She teaches both upper and lower division composition courses.

Awards include the Aaron Swartz Award for Best Web Text (2020), the Academic Federation Professional Development Award (2019), and the Outstanding Graduate Student Teaching Award (2008).
