Lisa Simpson

Lisa Simpson is a PartTime Lecturer at the Berlin Career College within the Berlin University of the Arts, working as an artist, performer, craftivist, seamstress, instrument builder, and noise enthusiast with international recognition.

Her educational background includes:

• Bachelor of Visual Arts from Universidade Tuiuti do Paraná
• Master of Applied Arts from Emily Carr University of Art and Design
• Graduate of the Institute for Art in Context at Universität der Künste Berlin

Simpson's research centers on experimental instrument creation and chaotic performance systems. Through her project Agente Costura, she develops self-playing, sensor-responsive instruments (touch/light-sensitive, glitched, stitched) that generate unpredictable sonic and visual experiences. Her work bridges textile craft with electronic hacking, exploring the tension between order and chaos in interactive art installations.

She has performed globally at venues including Goethe Institut Jakarta, Schneidertempel Istanbul, Akademie der Künste, HKW, Vancouver Art Gallery, Museum der Fünf Kontinente Munich, Bimhuis Amsterdam, and Curitiba Fashion Week. Currently based in Berlin, she collaborates with artists and audiences across disciplines while maintaining her project website (www.agentecostura.art) and engaging with UDK Berlin's educational initiatives.
