Lisa Silvestri is an Associate Teaching Professor at The Pennsylvania State University. Her work explores intersections between war, peace, digital culture, and civic life, with a focus on how technology shapes collective memory and democratic engagement.

Research spans conflict digital communication, civic resistance, and peacebuilding practices. Recent publications examine Standing Rock coalitions, collaborative memory systems, and existential resilience. Her scholarship appears in New Media & Society, Memory Studies, and Visual Communication Quarterly.
Awarded the James W. Carey Media Research Award (2016) and a National Endowment for the Humanities grant (2017), she founded the Telling War initiative to amplify veteran voices through narrative innovation.
