Dr. Lisa Papatraianou is an Associate Professor in Education - Professional Learning and Associate Dean for Work Integrated Learning at the Faculty of Arts and Society. She oversees work-integrated learning in Education, Business, Law, Humanitarian Aid, and the Arts. Her expertise spans professional experience, practitioner research, arts-based methodologies, and human resilience, particularly focusing on teachers, teacher educators, and youth.
Dr. Papatraianou holds a BEd (Honours), Grad Cert (Academic Practice), and a PhD. She is a Maurice de Rohan Scholar and Australian Endeavour Research Fellow, and recipient of the Australian Teacher Education Association’s University-School Partnership Award.
Her research explores resilience in diverse educational contexts, including remote settings and cross-cultural dynamics. Key contributions include studies on pre-service teacher preparedness, simulated teaching practices, and the impact of cultural transitions on student resilience. Recent work emphasizes post-teaching career satisfaction and ethical dilemmas in educational practice.
She has been involved in projects like the Rural Oral Language and Literacy (ROLL) initiative (2020-2022), focusing on phonological awareness in early education. Awards and recognitions highlight her commitment to student learning and university-school collaborations.
