Lisa Martin, Ph.D., is a Professor at the University of Michigan Dearborn with joint appointments in Women’s and Gender Studies and Health & Human Services. She serves as Interim Assistant Dean for Assessment and Accreditation and Department Chair of Health & Human Services, while directing the Women's and Gender Studies program. She earned her Ph.D. in Public Health (Health Behavior & Health Education) from the University of Michigan, an M.A. in Gender & Cultural Studies from Simmons University, and a B.S. in Biology from Lafayette College.

Her research focuses on abortion provider stigma, reproductive health disparities, and mental health, with emphasis on global interventions like the Providers Share Workshop. Her 15 most recent publications span 2022–2007, addressing abortion provider stigma, mental health disparities, and global health interventions. Key journals include Social Science & Medicine, JAMA Psychiatry, and Contraception, with methodologies centered on grounded theory and qualitative research.
