Lisa Marie Seeley

Dr. Lisa Marie Seeley is the Director of the Great Commission Center and Global Education Division at East Texas Baptist University (ETBU), where she teaches undergraduate and graduate Mission courses and the Christian Servant Leadership course in the Master of Education in College and University Leadership program. With over twenty years of experience in mission mobilization within higher education, she has dedicated her career to fostering a passion for service to God and humanity among her students.

Education:

• Ph.D. in Leadership, Dallas Baptist University
• Master of Arts in Theology (double concentration in Church History and Missions), Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary
• Graduate Diploma in Theology, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary

Her research interests center on the intersection of Christian missions, leadership theory, and theological education. She emphasizes the call of every Christian to the Missio Dei and seeks to integrate this understanding into leadership training and educational practice. Her academic work spans indigenous Christian leadership, historical mission strategies, and leadership decline in historical contexts.

Dr. Seeley's career includes roles at Dallas Baptist University as an adjunct instructor in history for six years and at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary for eleven years in various capacities, including Coordinator of the Scarborough Institute for Church Planting and Growth and Associate Director roles in missions and church growth initiatives.
