Lisa M. DeAngelis

Dr. Lisa M. DeAngelis is the Chief Physician Executive and Scott M. and Lisa G. Stuart Chair at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK). She leads clinical services, research, and education across 20 facilities in New York and New Jersey. Her expertise spans brain cancer, neurological complications of cancer treatment, and cognitive impairment. Dr. DeAngelis co-founded MSK’s Brain Tumor Center and pioneered therapies for primary brain tumors and central nervous system lymphoma. She holds over 300 peer-reviewed publications and eight authored/edited books.

Education:

• MD from Columbia University
• Residency in Neurology at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center
• Fellowships in Neurology (New York Hospital) and Neuro-Oncology (Columbia-Presbyterian/MSK)

Research Interests: Dr. DeAngelis focuses on translational research in neuro-oncology, clinical trials for novel tumor therapies, and mitigating treatment-related neurological side effects. Her work emphasizes bridging lab discoveries to patient care.

Leadership & Advocacy: She champions health equity by addressing social determinants of cancer care and fostering diversity in oncology. Her priority as Physician-in-Chief is supporting MSK’s faculty and staff to ensure optimal patient care.
