Dr. Carol D. Morris is a Clinical Professor and Chief of the Orthopaedic Surgery Service at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK). She holds the Jack Byrne Chair for Adolescent and Young Adult Cancers. Her expertise spans bone and soft tissue sarcomas, bone cancers, and benign bone tumors. Dr. Morris is renowned for her work in precision medicine, limb salvage surgery, and rotationplasty, focusing on preserving musculoskeletal function while addressing tumors.
Education: MS from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Orthopaedic Surgery residency at Boston Medical Center, and Musculoskeletal Oncology fellowship at MSK. Board-certified in Orthopaedic Surgery since 2003.
Research interests include innovative surgical techniques for tumors, maintaining quality of life post-treatment, and advancing orthopaedic oncology through clinical care and education. Awards include Castle Connolly Top Doctor (2013–present) and the Corrine Farrell Award (2019).
Her team performs ~1,000 annual surgeries for bone/soft tissue tumors, emphasizing limb preservation. She leads MSK’s mission to integrate clinical care, education, and research, mentoring faculty and advancing oncology knowledge through collaborations.
