Lisa M. Satlin, MD is the Herbert H. Lehman Professor of Pediatrics and System Chair at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, serving as Pediatrician-in-Chief of Mount Sinai Kravis Children's Hospital. She holds dual professorships in Pediatrics and Medicine/Nephrology. Her roles include leading the Jack and Lucy Clark Department of Pediatrics and directing a nationally recognized NIH-funded lab focused on renal ion transport mechanisms.
Education: MD from Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons; Pediatrics residency at Columbia Presbyterian; Pediatric Nephrology fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
Research: Specializes in postnatal developmental programs of renal ion channels (ENaC, ROMK/BK) and hydrodynamic regulation of epithelial transport in the cortical collecting duct. Techniques include 3D bioprinting, kidney organoid models, microperfusion, and patch-clamp analysis. Her lab serves as a national Single Tubule Physiology Core for NIH O’Brien Center research.
