Lisa Lindquist Dorr is a Professor in the Department of History at the University of Alabama's College of Arts and Sciences. Her research specializes in Gender and Women’s History, Southern History since 1865, and African American Women’s History, with specific focus on Alabama women during Prohibition, 1920s Southern popular culture, and family life in the South.
Her notable publications examine racial violence, gender dynamics, and prohibition-era smuggling networks. Recent works analyze abortion policies on Southern campuses and the intersection of religion and racial politics during Prohibition.
Awards include the Research Advisory Council Grant (2003) and a fellowship at the Carter G. Woodson Institute (1998-2000).
