Professor Lisa Lewis is a Professor in Theatre and Performance and Co-director of the Centre for Media and Culture in Small Nations at the University of South Wales. She holds the role of Associate Dean for Research and Innovation within the Faculty of Business and Creative Industries. Her work focuses on transcultural performance, postcolonial identities, and the intersection of performance with memory, place, and minority languages. Lewis leads major interdisciplinary projects such as the Leverhulme Trust-funded 'Welsh and Khasi Cultural Dialogues' (2015–2019), producing the touring performance Performing Journeys. She collaborates with institutions like the Smithsonian and the National Museum Wales.
Education: PhD in Theatre Studies from Aberystwyth University (2000). Research interests include

Key projects include the Welsh and Khasi Cultural Dialogues and the Aurora Borealis exploration project. Her publications include the monograph Performing Wales: People, Memory and Place (2018) and peer-reviewed chapters on Welsh cultural identity and postcolonial performance.
Teaching spans undergraduate to postgraduate levels, with supervision of numerous research students. Grants include £ funding from the Leverhulme Trust. She actively participates in international conferences and museum partnerships to advance interdisciplinary performance research.
