Dr. Lisa Koski is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology at McGill University and Director of the Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) laboratory at the Royal Victoria Hospital. She holds clinical appointments as a Psychologist at the Montreal General Hospital and Neuropsychologist Consultant at the Geriatric Cognitive Disorders Clinic, McGill University Health Centre (MUHC). Her expertise focuses on neuropsychological assessment, neurorehabilitation, and cognitive-behavioral interventions for neurological disorders.
Dr. Koski earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from McGill University in 1999, followed by postdoctoral training at UCLA’s Brain Mapping Center, where she studied motor control and stroke rehabilitation using TMS and fMRI. Her research integrates clinical practice with neuroscience, addressing neural mechanisms underlying motor disability in multiple sclerosis and post-stroke recovery.
Collaborators include experts across neurology, geriatrics, and engineering at institutions like the Montreal Neurological Institute and University of Manitoba. She mentors students in clinical psychology and neuroscience, with past trainees contributing to projects on cognitive assessment tools and neuroplasticity mechanisms.
Her lab explores innovative interventions for neurological conditions, leveraging TMS to enhance rehabilitation outcomes. Dr. Koski actively participates in clinical training programs at McGill and contributes to translational research initiatives at the Research Institute of the MUHC.
