Lisa Kalynchuk is Professor and Vice-President Research & Innovation at the University of Victoria, with appointments in the Division of Medical Sciences and Department of Psychology. Her research investigates neurobiological mechanisms of depression, epilepsy-related psychiatric symptoms, and chronic stress pathophysiology.
Major research contributions include establishing reelin's therapeutic potential in mood disorders and developing animal models for treatment-resistant depression. Current projects examine molecular pathways linking neuroinflammation to neurodegeneration.
