Lisa Jennifer Sakamoto is affiliated with TU Dortmund University's Research Training Group, focusing on interdisciplinary health research. Previously, she served as a Project Assistant Professor of Community and Global Health at the University of Tokyo, Japan. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's degree in Health Sciences. Her work emphasizes cultural, social, and environmental influences on health outcomes, particularly in underserved populations.
Her current research explores home and community-based services (HCBS) supporting healthy aging in place for rural-dwelling older adults in Germany and Japan. This project employs mixed-methods approaches to address systemic challenges, service utilization patterns, and multidimensional health outcomes in aging societies. Key themes include healthcare access disparities, rural-urban inequities, and cross-cultural policy implications.
Lisa's expertise bridges global health equity and gerontology, with a strong emphasis on qualitative and quantitative methodologies. Her work aims to inform evidence-based policies for aging populations in resource-constrained settings. She can be reached at lisa.sakamoto@tu-dortmund.de.
