Lisa Jaye Young is a Professor of Art History at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), where she has served since 2007. Her work bridges academic research, curatorial practice, and art criticism, focusing on contemporary art, photography, and feminist theory. She founded the LIVE/ART/HISTORY lecture series and co-organized the Larry W. Forrest Student Art History Paper competition.

Her research interests include photography, feminist art, material culture, and modern/contemporary art. She has contributed extensively to publications like Art Pulse Magazine, Aint-Bad, and Performing Arts Journal, analyzing topics such as gender performance, photographic practices, and conceptual art.
Recent publications highlight her engagement with photographic theory, exhibition reviews, and artist interviews. She has served as a thesis chair for SCAD students and participated in symposia on material culture and new museology.
