معرفی
Lisa Hiura is an Assistant Professor in Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of Colorado. Her research focuses on understanding how social behavior and bonds develop across the lifespan in animals, particularly prairie voles. She investigates neural, endocrine, and genetic mechanisms underlying social interactions, parental care, and pair bonding.
Education: PhD in Neuroscience from Cornell University (2020).
Research interests include neurobiological regulation of social behavior, developmental transitions in social needs, and the role of nonapeptide systems in shaping social bonds. Her work spans multiple biological levels from neuron activity to multi-animal social networks.
Recent studies explore sex differences in partner preference development, paternal caregiving influences, and the impact of early social experiences on neuropeptide receptor profiles. She also addresses issues of racial equity in academic environments through institutional reform advocacy.
Labs/Teams: Director of the Hiura Lab, which uses interdisciplinary approaches to study social behavior plasticity in animal models.
