Lisa Hibl

Lisa Hibl serves as Associate Professor of Composition and Writing Specialist at Thomas University, bringing over two decades of expertise in composition and literary arts with a distinctive focus on environmental ethics. She recently designed a learning community at the University of Southern Maine to foster academic and social integration for new and returning students.

Her academic foundation includes a BA from Bowdoin College, MFA in Poetry from Arizona State University, and PhD in Literature from Brandeis University.

Hibl's research bridges creative writing with ecological consciousness, emphasizing environmental literature, poetry, and place-based pedagogy. She actively collaborates on interdisciplinary projects connecting writing instruction to real-world environmental stewardship.
