Lisa Felgendreff

Lisa Felgendreff is a Research Assistant at the Department of Journalism and Communication Research at the University of Erfurt, where she has been working since July 2023. She is also a PhD student in Health Communication at the University of Erfurt since 2018, focusing on evidence-based health communication strategies.

Her educational background includes a Master's degree in Psychology in Work, Education and Society from the Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena (2010-2014) and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg (2007-2010).

Lisa's primary research interests center around evidence-based health communication, informed vaccination decision-making, and risk communication. Her work explores how different communication strategies affect public perceptions of health risks and vaccination effectiveness. She has conducted numerous experimental studies examining the impact of fact boxes, infographics, and explanatory narratives on health decision-making processes. Her research often focuses on vaccination communication, including topics related to influenza, mRNA vaccines, and COVID-19 vaccines.

Her publication record shows a strong focus on health communication and vaccination decision-making, with an emphasis on experimental methodologies. Her work frequently investigates how different communication formats (such as fact boxes versus storytelling approaches) influence risk perception and health behaviors. She has also conducted research on oral cancer awareness and communication strategies, reflecting a broad interest in evidence-based approaches to public health communication.

Lisa is actively involved in research projects related to health communication, including the "National Prevention Project - Improving the Early Detection of Tumors of the Oral Cavity," which is funded by the German Association for Dental, Oral and Orthodontics (DGZMK) and the German Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (DGMKG). Her previous work includes contributions to the DFG-funded SAFECOMM project and the COSMO-Study on public perceptions during the COVID-19 pandemic.
