Her research focuses on the ethical and normative foundations of education, particularly in contexts of political polarization, democratic backsliding, and pluralism. She explores diversity-oriented sex education, the social participation of people with disabilities, and Hannah Arendt’s philosophical relevance to contemporary educational challenges. Her work bridges theoretical inquiry with empirical analysis in non-school settings.
Lisa’s publications and lectures address controversies in engaged pedagogies, including critiques of cultural products like Jim Knopf and Gonzo, vaccine hesitancy’s educational implications, and pedagogical responses to fake news. Her recent article A Duty to Repair (2025) examines spatial contexts for discussing contentious issues in education.
