Lisa Dickson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). Her research focuses on labor economics, the economics of education, and econometric analysis. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin. Her work examines topics such as immigration policy impacts, higher education access for marginalized groups, and institutional decision-making processes in universities. She has published widely on issues including in-state tuition policies for non-citizens, gender disparities in higher education, and the effects of affirmative action on college enrollment.
Dr. Dickson’s recent research explores the educational and employment outcomes of undocumented immigrants under policies like DACA, as well as the implications of state-based tuition benefits. She has collaborated with scholars such as T. Gindling and Dylan Conger on studies analyzing gender imbalances in college enrollment and the effectiveness of public-sector education investments.
