Lisa Dessborn is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Environmental Science at Kristianstad University's Faculty of Natural Science. She is a core member of the Sustainable Multifunctional Landscapes (SMULA) research group and serves on the university's Nominations Committee. Her interdisciplinary work bridges ecological conservation and science education.
Dessborn's research focuses on wetland ecosystems, ornithology (particularly mallard duck ecology), and biodiversity conservation. She also investigates innovative pedagogy, including adventure-based learning in preschools and digital tools (e.g., YouTube) for science teacher training. Her studies often address human impacts on natural habitats, such as effects of farmed mallards on native species.
She has presented at international conferences including the OMEP European Conference (2024) on sustainability education and the Symposium on Limnology and Aquatic Birds (2012). Her publications reflect a dual emphasis on ecological fieldwork and educational methodologies.
She has supervised 11 student projects and leads collaborative research on wetland restoration across Sweden.
