Lisa DeMarni Cromer

Lisa Cromer is Professor of Psychology at The University of Tulsa, where she directs the Trauma Research: Assessment, Prevention, and Treatment Center and co-directs the Institute of Trauma, Adversity, and Injustice. She holds leadership positions in national trauma psychology organizations.

Research focuses on:

• Nightmare treatment protocols for trauma survivors
• Resilience mechanisms in high-risk populations
• Historical trauma transmission and transformation
• Sleep intervention development and validation
• Prevention of interpersonal violence impacts

Clinical work emphasizes cognitive-behavioral approaches for trauma recovery. She developed Exposure, Relaxation, and Rescripting Therapy (ERRT), an evidence-based nightmare treatment protocol implemented in clinical settings nationwide.
