Lisa Barkley, MD is the Director of the Curriculum Core of the Child Mind Institute’s Youth Mental Health Academy and serves as Chair of the Department of Family Medicine and Associate Professor at Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science (CDU). She is also CEO of KLNB Group, LLC, a consulting firm focused on innovative health care strategies. With over 20 years of experience as a board-certified adolescent, family, and sports medicine physician, she specializes in adolescent health and addressing health disparities.

Dr. Barkley's research focuses on adolescent health, health disparities, and the social determinants of health. She develops physician training curricula in social medicine, health equity, medical ethics, and complementary medicine. Her work emphasizes community engagement and health career pathways for underrepresented youth to address disparities in medical education.
She was honored in Savoy magazine’s special issue as one of the nation’s top African American doctors for her health career pathways programs.
Dr. Barkley is a leader in diversity, equity, and inclusion in medical education. She has implemented outreach initiatives and career programs for middle and high school students, fostering partnerships with local school districts and regional societies. At the Child Mind Institute, she leads the Curriculum Core team in developing educational content for youth mental health.
