Lisa Anne Zilney is an Associate Professor in the Department of Justice Studies at Montclair State University, within the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. She holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of Tennessee, specializing in Criminology and Environmental Sociology. Her academic career includes teaching courses such as Research Methods, Sex Crimes, Animals & Justice, Wildlife Trafficking, and Family Violence.
Zilney’s research focuses on sex crimes legislation, environmental crime, the human-animal bond, and the intersection of animal cruelty with domestic violence. She has authored six books, including *Impacts of Sex Crime Laws on the Female Partners of Convicted Offenders* (2020), ranked among top criminology works. Notable publications include analyses of environmental justice policy, child welfare systems, and drug policy impacts.
