Lisa A. Dolak serves as Professor of Law at Syracuse University College of Law, previously holding the Angela S. Cooney Professorship of Law from 2009 to 2022. From 2015 through 2021, she concurrently held the administrative role of Senior Vice President and University Secretary, leading Syracuse University's Board of Trustees operations.
Her educational credentials include:

Professor Dolak's research examines critical intersections between patent law and judicial procedure, alongside patent law and legal ethics, with specialized focus on pharmaceutical patent systems. Her unique perspective integrates prior professional experience as a synthetic organic chemist in drug development at Bristol-Myers and Ayerst Laboratories. She actively serves as an expert consultant in patent litigation, attorney malpractice cases, and disciplinary proceedings, having also clerked for Judge Paul R. Michel (Ret.) at the Federal Circuit during a sabbatical.
Admitted to practice in New York and before the US Patent and Trademark Office, she teaches core courses in patent law, civil procedure, and federal courts while maintaining active engagement in legal practice through expert consultation.
