Professor Liqun Chen is a Professor in Secure Systems at the University of Surrey's Department of Computer Science, part of the School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering. She previously spent nearly 20 years as a Principal Research Scientist at Hewlett Packard Laboratories. Her research focuses on cryptography, trusted computing, quantum-resistant solutions, and security in emerging technologies like 5G/6G, IoT, and blockchain. She leads major EU-funded projects such as FutureTPM (quantum-resistant TPMs) and collaborates internationally on secure systems.
Education & Career:
- PhD studies in China during post-Cultural Revolution era (1980s).
- Prior roles at Royal Holloway, University of London, University of Oxford, and Southeast University (China).
- Visiting Professor at Southeast University.

- Quantum-resistant cryptographic algorithms.
