Dr. Linxin Li is a Clinical Research Fellow at the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences, University of Oxford, and Founding Director of the Wolfson Centre for the Prevention of Stroke and Dementia. Her research focuses on clinical stroke epidemiology, particularly cryptogenic stroke, stroke in younger populations, and the use of imaging techniques to study cerebrovascular disease. She holds a DPhil in clinical neuroscience and has been affiliated with Kellogg College and Somerville College during her academic career.
Education: Completed her DPhil in clinical neuroscience at the University of Oxford.
Research Interests: Dr. Li investigates risk factors, imaging characteristics, and outcomes of cryptogenic stroke, as well as temporal trends in stroke incidence. She also explores associations between blood pressure and cerebral small vessel disease, and the risks/benefits of aspirin. Her work integrates multimodal imaging and biomarkers to improve understanding of cerebrovascular pathophysiology.
Awards: Recipient of the Young Investigator Awards (European Stroke Conference 2014, European Stroke Organisation 2016), Fulford Junior Research Fellowship (2017–2019), and Medical Research Foundation fellowship (2019–2022).
Collaborations: Works closely with Prof. Peter Rothwell and contributes to initiatives like the Oxford Vascular Study. Her research has led to influential publications in The Lancet, Neurology, and The Lancet Neurology.
Labs/Teams: Director of the Wolfson Centre for the Prevention of Stroke and Dementia, advancing clinical and translational research in cerebrovascular diseases.
